PRESS RELEASE CONCORD, NH (OCTOBER 22, 2001) NEW HAMPSHIRE FELINE FANCIERS DONATES $1,500 TO NH STATE NEUTER/SPAY PROGRAM Nancy Jenkins, Treasurer of New Hampshire Feline Fanciers (NHFF), presented Dr. Clifford W. McGinnis, DVM, State Veterinarian and State Senator Katherine Wheeler, Chair of the New Hampshire Pet Overpopulation Study Committee with a $1,500 donation to the New Hampshire State Neuter/Spay program. The presentation was made at the committee's Monday, October 22, 2001 10 AM session. As Nancy noted, this donation fulfills one of the tenets in the NHFF constitution "...to encourage and donate to early spay-neuter programs for cats inappropriate to breeding". It also represents a continuation of NHFF partnerships with feline welfare organizations and provides additional opportunities to educate the public on this important work. NHFF holds Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) cat shows in January and July in New Hampshire where it distributes free feline educational material and donates booth space to feline welfare and educational organizations in addition to the exhibition of purebred cats. NHFF recently donated $201 to the New Hampshire State Neuter/Spay program that was raised from a fundraiser at its July 2001 CFA cat show. NHFF will be hosting its annual winter show on January 26 and 27, 2002 at the Dover Middle School Gym in Dover NH and continuing its tradition of raising additional monies for donation to this worthwhile program. NHFF is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1972 and is one of the older CFA-affiliated cat clubs in New England. Since 1990, NHFF has donated to not-for-profit organizations supporting the welfare of domestic felines or promoting the research of feline diseases. CFA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of cats. CFA was founded in 1906 and is the world's largest registry of pedigreed cats with affiliated clubs producing more than 325 shows a year.
